Pathological Factor
It is yet unclear whether Mucor infection is directly responsible for the illnesses reported in the M. circinelloides outbreak related to the yogurts. Alternavtive explanation is that intoxication with secondary metabolites, such as mycotoxins, could be responsible for this incident.
