HYPHOMICROBIUM CHLOROMETHANICUM
| Class: | Alpha Proteobacteria |
| Genus: | Hyphomicrobium |
| Species: | Hyphomicrobium chloromethanicum |
| Description: | Hyphomicrobium chloromethanicum, chloromethane-utilizing bacteria isolated from a polluted environment. Gram-negative rods 0.8-1.0µm in diameter and 2.5-3.5µm long. Cells are motile and pink pigmented.Growth is strictly aerobic. Grows on chloromethane as sole carbon and energy source. Methanol, methyl-amine, succinate and fumarate are also growth substrates. |
