Description: The cells are 2.5-3.0 x 1.0 μm in size and are motile by a single polar flagellum.Grows very slowly, forming visible colonies on trypticase soy agar only after 4-6 days.Growth is enhanced by the addition of NaCl.

Source: Isolated from diseased salmon fish in Washington,Oregon,British Columbia,and Japan,and from ayu (Plecoglossus altivelis) and rockfish fingerlings(Sebastes schlegeli) in Japan.
Pathogenicity: A causative agent of vibriosis in fish.Important fish pathogen.
