| Description | It is an herbaceous perennial with erect stems 1-4 feet tall, prickly leaves and on extensove creeping rootstocks. Stems are branched, often slightly hairy, and ridged. Leaves are lence-shaped, irregular lobed with spiny, toothed margins and are borne singly and alternativly along the stem. Rose-purple, lavender, or sometimes white flower heads. Fruits: cypsels smooth. Flowers and fruits appears during December-March. |
