Medicinal Properties | Expectorant, carminative, aphrodisiac, demulcent, antiinflammatory, antirheumatic and hypocholesterimic activity. Essential oil: antibacterial. |
Medicinal Use | Useful in rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, obesity and several other disorders. Lowers the cholesterol level of the blood. Increased fibrinolytic activity in ischaemic heart disease patients. Gugullipid useful in heart diseases, spondilitis and gout. Resin is useful in indolent ulcers and as gargle in pyrrhoea alveolaris, chronic tonsilitis and pharyngitis. Inhalation of fumes from burning gum is recommended in hay fever, chronic broncht., nasal catarrh, laringitis and phthisis. Useful in rhinosinal infection and infective hepatitis. |
