| Description | Erect, annual herbs. Leaves: alternate. Flowers: capitula heterogamous, borne in racemes; Involucre campanulate; bracts 2-3 seriate, numerous,narrow, subequal; ray-florets pistillate, fertile, usually 2-many seriate, ligules prominent; disc-florets hermaphrodite, fertile(rarely sterile). pappus uniseriate; corolla regular, tubular, limb 5-lobed, slightly enlarged. Fruits: cypsels compressed, ellipsoid.
