Regional Habitat | Commonly found along moist banks of river and temporary water bodies. Distribution: Jhunjhunu, barmer, alwar, pali, sirohi, udaipur, dungarpur, jaipur, tonk, bhilwara, chittorgarh, bharatpur, banswara and jhalawar districts. |
Description | Annual, glandular-pubescent herbs. Branches radiating, forming circular patches. Leaves: radical ones tapering at base, lyrately-pinnatifid, surfaces pubescent; lateral segments oblong, pair opposite or subopposite, obtuse; terminal segments oblong, trilobed, toothed, apex obtuse or sub-acute. Flowers: capitula 0.4-1.0 cm across, solitary or 2-4, terminal or axillary. Invol. bracts- oblong, spathulate, margins scarious, outer ones pubescent abaxially, inner ones ciliate at apex, receptacle convex. Florets glandular. Ray-florets: 0.4 cm long, numerous, in 2-3 series, outer ones 2 lobed, inner 3-4 lobed, style 0.2 cm long, much exserted. Disc-florets: 0.3 cm long, pappus 0.5 cm long, fimbriate at margins, white; corolla lobes 5, acute; anthers 0.1 cm long, style 0.15 cm long; cypsels compressed, turbinate, 2-ribbed, minutely pubescent and glandular, stalk apparently remains attached to the receptacle at maturity; stipe short. Flowers and fruits appears during November - April. |
