DescriptionErect, 45-60 cm high herbs. Stem: terete, whitish pubescent, tinged with purple. Leaves: petioles 0.1-2.0 cm long, slightly winged; lamina cuneate at base, ovate, 2.2-9.5 x 0.8-4.8 cm, surfaces pubescent, apex acute, margins toothed; those at the apical nodes ovate-lanceolate, 3-veined at the base, apex acute/acuminate, margins coarsely crenate-dentate. Flowers: capitula 0.5-0.8 cm across; stalk 0.4-1.5 cm long, hispidly hairy; invol. bracts of the outer series 5 in number, linear-clavate, 0.9 x 0.1 cm, spreading; inner ones 5 in number, boat shaped, concave, obtuse, pubescent abaxially; palea 0.4x 0.1 cm, pubescent, often glandular, enfolding the cypsels; ray-florets 5 in number, 0.6 cm long, corolla 0.17 cm long, ligule 0.1 cm long, 3-lobed, yellow; disc-florets 0.15 cm long, corolla 0.15 cm long; anther 0.1 cm long, apical appendages ovate; style 0.15 cm long. Fruits: cypsels blackish-brown, 0.4 cm long, glabrous. Flowers and fruits appears during August-December.
