Description | Small trees, grows upto 3-4 m in height. Bark: greyish or pale-brown, faintly longitudinally fissured. Leaves: stipules triangular, hairy; petioles 0.1-0.6 cm long; lamina truncate or often slightly unequal-sided at base, ovate, elliptic-lanceolate; surfaces pubescent, dense on veins, lateral veins 10-16 pairs, arcuate, conspicuous, apex acute, shortly acuminate, margins entire. Flowers: sessile, borne in leafy panicles; bracts leafy, deminishing in size towards the apex; bracteoles minute, subulate; calyx 0.3 cm long, tube narrow, hairy, teeth 4-5, linear, acute, densely pubescent; corolla white or pale-blue fragrant, tube slender, sparsely pubescent, lobes ovate, glabrous inside. Fruits: capsules like, 0.3-0.4 cm long, 1-celled ellipsoid. Seeds: glabrous, outer coat of testa reticulate. Flowers and Fruits appeared during December-February.
