Announces
Three-Day Workshop
on
"Bioinformatics: Sequence & Genome Analysis"
8 - 10 December 2011
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The 'Genome' of an organism contains the essential information
require to reconstruct and regulate life. With the advancement in
technology, researchers are able to resolve the hidden genetic
information present as a sequence of code. With Automated sequencing
technology, huge amount of genomic data is being
generated daily and analyzing this data is essential to understand
the principles of life for the benefit of human race. Bioinformatics
provides the platform to study various aspects of life science using
information technology.
This workshop focuses on the tools and techniques that are being
used to decipher and analyze biological sequences and genomes of
organisms. The workshop will feature morning lectures,
demonstrations with evening hands-on session in Bioinformatics
lab.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The participants of the course may be students, research scholars, faculty and industry personnel with background in Life Sciences and/or Information Technology. The workshop is selfcontained and does not assume any special knowledge of the subject.
TEACHING FACULTY
Besides BISR faculty, eminent guest speakers from renowned Bioinformatics Centres of India will deliver lectures and conduct demonstration on various aspects on Bioinformatics.
