Announces
Three-Day National Workshop
on
"Current Trends in Bioinformatics and Genome Analysis"
20 - 22 January 2017
ABOUT ACCOMMODATION
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The recent advances in biological sequencing technology have produced a great volume of high-throughput genomics data and created a new
challenges and unprecedented opportunities for researchers to address various kinds of biological problems. The emerging tools for
genomic data analysis have paved the novel way to have a comprehensive and high resolution view of genetics of an individual. Thus, it
allowed researchers to have a complete epigenetic view of special cells and tissue types responsible for various genetic variation and
diseases including cancer cells.
This workshop focuses on the current trends in Genome Analysis with special insights into the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data
analysis. The session will include the demonstration of various steps of data analysis including description of various sequence file
formats followed by quality control and generation of variant calls. Besides, in structural bioinformatics the current strategies in
molecular modeling of proteins and computer aided drug design (CADD) will be discussed with guided practical training.
For lab exercise, various open source and commercial software will be used in training such as Autodock, Modeller, Arguslab, DeepView,
Molinspiration and Discovery studio. The workshop is self-contained and does not assume any special knowledge of computer programming or
Bioinformatics.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The participants of the course may be students, research scholars, faculty and industry personnel with background in Life Sciences and/or Information Technology. The workshop is selfcontained and does not assume any special knowledge of the subject.
