Pathological Factor
Cryptosporidium paravum life cycle begins with the ingestion of the sporulated oocysts by the susceptible host; the oocysts undergo excystation and release four infective sporozoite. the parasite establishes itself in a membrane-bound compartment on the apical surface of the intestinal epithelium, it will lead to cause host cell damage. Nevertheless, it causes significant abnormalities in the absorptive and secretory functions of the gut. This damage could be the result of direct injury to the host epithelial cells or could be indirect through the effect of inflammatory cells and cytokines recruited to the site of infection.
